Our Story
For years small businesses (and individuals) have used software such as Quickbooks, Netsuite and others to capture their accounting information. Overtime, a subscription model was forced on users, to pay annually for what they believed they had already purchased. In addition, they were now often being charged by the individual user. The cloud-based model being forced on them could possibly expose their financial information to hackers. Two years ago, we undertook a project to develop software to offer an alternative to this situation. We are retired executives from major companies who have implemented large accounting systems, so we understand the required functionality.

We invested our own time and money to build this, and are in final, thorough testing of what we believe will give companies a real alternative to paying forever. Our goal is to provide you with everything you need at a one-time cost. If you buy a hammer, you don't have to pay for it every year, so why do this for software. Books+ produces accountant-ready books: transactions remain connected to governed evidence, routine accounting follows standard controls, exceptions are visible, corrections preserve history, and reports trace back to their source. Books+ begins with a tested chart of Accounts, account roles, standard transaction types, posting rules, controls, guided processing, reliable close, and traceable financial statements. It asks for re-configuration only when there is a genuine business or policy difference.
One of our target markets is CPAs and Bookkeepers. Our 2 CPA bundles offer significant discounts for multiple copies of Books+. The benefits extend beyond just price. Preparation for taxes becomes structured with CPA ready financial information being uploaded. CPAs are overloaded at tax time, so any help there is welcome.
Our software includes full, easy to understand wiki-based documentation, providing everything you need to maintain your system over time. We do offer additional maintenance if you choose that later.
